Faith Primary Academy Admissions Policy

Reception Admissions
Children start in our Reception class in the September of the academic year they turn five, At Faith Primary Academy we admit a maximum of 30 children into Receptions and applications should be made to the LA by the beginning of February. If more than 30 children apply then priority will be given on the following basis:
- Looked after children and previously looked after children. This includes children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
- Baptised children (Catholic or Church of England) with a sibling at the school at the time of admission.
- (i) Baptised Catholic children resident in the parish of St Francis Xavier (up to 15 children). (ii) Baptised Church of England children resident in the parish of St Peter (up to 15 children). (iii) Where places remain available baptised Catholic or Church of England children living in the Catholic parish of St Francis Xavier or Anglican parish of St Peter.
- Other children with a sibling at the school at the time of admission.
- Other baptised children (Catholic or Church of England).
- Children of other faiths. An appropriate Faith Leader would need to confirm in writing that the applicant is a member of their faith group.
- Other children. If it is not possible to offer places for all applications within any criteria above, then places will be allocated to the children who live nearest to the school. The distance will be measured by straight line distance between the child’s permanent home address and the school using the local authority’s computerised measuring system.
Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education Health Care Plan that names a school will be offered place without using the admission criteria and will count as part of the school’s published admission number.

In addition to applying through Liverpool City council for Reception, you also need to complete a supplementary form to be considered against the school’s faith/denomination criteria
In case of you not being awarded a place at Faith Primary Academy you have the right to appeal against the decision to an independent appeal panel.

Nursery Admissions
Children are admitted to Nursery following their third birthday. You can apply for a nursery place via the school office.
If you would like to apply for a nursery place please contact school by phone on 0151 233 5092 to arrange a call from Nursery staff.
You are welcome to come and visit the Early Years classes by appointment.
Attendance at Nursery does not guarantee a child a Reception place
