Our Vision

Intent
At Faith Primary Academy, the intent of our Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) curriculum is to provide a well-rounded education that equips our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to thrive in modern British society. Our overarching aim is to foster the personal development of each child, ensuring they are well-prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of later life.

Our PSHE curriculum is carefully designed to be broad, balanced, and inclusive, addressing a wide range of relevant topics including relationships, health and well-being, online safety, financial capability, citizenship, and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). Through this curriculum, we aim to promote the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of our pupils while also preparing them to be active and responsible citizens.

Implementation
The implementation of our PSHE curriculum is rooted in high-quality teaching that is tailored to meet the needs of all pupils. We follow the Jigsaw scheme of work for all aspects of the PSHE curriculum, except for Relationships and Sex education (RSE). RSE is taught using the Diocesan approved scheme ‘Journey in Love’.  Senior leaders ensure that staff are well-trained, confident, and supported in delivering engaging and informative lessons that are age-appropriate and culturally sensitive.

We have embedded PSHE across the whole school, ensuring it is not only taught discretely but also integrated into other subjects and everyday school life. Our PSHE lessons are interactive, relevant, and participatory, encouraging pupils to explore their own values, beliefs, and attitudes in a safe and respectful environment.

Furthermore, we have solid partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies to enhance the impact of our PSHE curriculum. We actively seek feedback from the school community and utilise it to continuously review and improve our provision.

Impact
The impact of our PSHE curriculum is evident in the positive outcomes it yields for our pupils. Through regular assessment and monitoring, we can see that pupils are not only acquiring knowledge but also developing key skills such as critical thinking, empathy, resilience, and decision-making.

Our pupils demonstrate a deep understanding of diverse issues related to personal, social, health, and economic well-being, including Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), and they are able to apply this knowledge in practical situations. They show respect for themselves and others, exhibit positive relationships, and make informed choices that contribute to their overall well-being.

Furthermore, the positive impact of our PSHE curriculum extends beyond the classroom, influencing the wider school community and promoting a culture of compassion, inclusion and respect. As a result, our pupils are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of modern society and make meaningful contributions to the world around them.

The PSHE curriculum at Faith Primary Academy is instrumental in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are equipped to lead fulfilling lives and positively contribute to society.
