Writing at Faith
We are passionate about helping children develop and improve their writing. We have designed our own bespoke English curriculum which uses quality text as a stimulus and provides the children with the opportunity for contextualised learning.
We use a wide range of strategies and techniques for teaching writing centred around the ‘immerse’, ‘analyse’, ‘write’ approach. Oral rehearsal is key for our children, enabling them to gather their thoughts before they commit themselves to paper.
Assessment of Writing
Teachers continually monitor and assess children’s progress against the standards set out in the National Curriculum. These judgements are reported to senior leaders each half term. Governors receive a detailed report of standards across the school each term.
