In Year 4, we follow the Ready, Steady Write curriculum. Throughout the year we will engage with a wide range of texts and learn new literary skills that will help us progress in our reading and writing.

The skills that we will learn include:
Reading further exception words
Using dictionaries to check the meaning of words
Identifying themes and conventions in a wide range of books
Preparing poems and play scripts
Using the diagonal and horizontal strokes that are needed to join letters
Organising paragraphs around a theme
In narratives, creating settings, characters and plot
